Uptempo mocking song written by Simon Oak in May 2020, based on jokes that circulated on the internet during the Covid-19 pandemic. On a serious note: we will never forget the hundreds of thousands that lost their dear ones partly due to the massive mismanagement by our leaders who refused to take scientists seriously and chose to ignore their early warnings. All predictive models showed the devastating effect of postponing serious isolation measures, yet those in power thought of themselves.
Lyrics
Chorus twice before each verse:
O Melania have you seen my hydroxychloroquine?
I love your Lysol tea, but that’s not enough for me.
1. I put my pots of pills
On the nightstand by the bed
Next to the blessings from the stills
In the vintage cabinet
They’re gone that’s one thing evident
This is conspiracy
To kill the greatest president
In American history
2. They’re not in the antique dresser
Nor on the golden bathroom shelf
O Melania, God bless her
I cannot help myself
I struck a deal with India
For hydroxychloroquine
It also cures my dementia
Like a wondrous vaccine
3. I think a nasty Democrat
Must have sneaked into the room
To steal my grand slammer at
The fight against our doom
The virus came from China
But my good friend Mister Xi
He sent me a reminder
That he’s not my enemy
4. As I scuff along the oaken walls
Of Mar-a-Lago late at night
Recalling those who spoke of all
Great pills that cure the blight
Not having mine to keep me clean
Disturbs me to the core
Without hydroxychloroquine
I’ll die in bed for sure
Slow after the last chorus:
Hydroxychloroquine
They say in Africa
Is a proven medicine …
If you have Melania!
Ask Simon to sing it for you at one of his events.
