29/6/26 We lost yet another dear friend to cancer in 2022. I felt very honoured that she asked me to sing Gounod’s Avé Maria on her final sendoff. Because I’d been doing a lot of DADGAD, I worked out the chords and it worked surprisingly well for me. It’s an unusual way to sing Gounod’s Avé Maria, but I liked it enough to share it with you. Not perfect, but good enough to show you what I did.
For my voice, I tuned the DADGAD one whole note down, so it’s actually CGCFGC. If you can sing higher, keep it in DADGAD or even use a capo. Hope you like it.
